What we do

Since July 2012, TotalEnergies (with 57,14% share now) together with OMV Petrom (and initially also with Repsol) has held a permit for prospecting and exploration of oil and natural gas in Block 1-21 Han Asparuh, in the deep offshore part of Bulgaria’s Black Sea. TotalEnergies has been the operator of the Block since April 2014 and responsible for drilling the exploration wells. The Block is located some 120 kilometers off the coast in water depths from 200 to 2,000 meters. 

In this project TotalEnergies brings its worldwide recognized expertise in deep sea technology, project management and reservoir development and its highest Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) standards.

TotalEnergies EP Bulgaria opened its office in Sofia in 2014. Since then, it has been working to develop and maintain a trusted relationship with all stakeholders, including the government, NGOs and the business and academic communities.
